About the role

We are looking, for one of our clients, a major law firm, for a person to join the finance team, in the role of Accounts Payable.

The position is for a fixed term of two years, but with real chances of remaining within the company afterwards.

Responsibilities

  • ensuring the payment of taxes, duties and contributions according to the monthly payrolls within the deadlines set in accordance with the legislation in force;
  • ensuring the monthly payment of VAT within the deadline set by the legislation in force;
  • recording the invoices received from suppliers, allocating the expenses to cost centers;
  • verifying the correctness of the preparation of documents for electronic payments and making the payments, in accordance with the established internal procedures of the Company, accounting principles and relevant legislation;
  • analyzing statements and accounts in order to identify unusual or overdue items and choosing the correct procedures for verifying or correcting the differences or errors;
  • maintaining the relationship with the bank regarding the cash availabilities in the Company's current accounts: checking the daily balances, making electronic payments to suppliers or third parties, keeping records of the maturity dates of bank deposits, setting up bank deposits, monitoring the drawdowns from the credit lines opened by the Company at the bank, as well as the timely repayment of the amounts needed to cover these credit lines;
  • carrying out the annual inventory of the Company's assets;
  • collaborating with the CFO in keeping the accounting and financial records correct and up to date;
  • preparing the standard audit reports and statements in collaboration with the CFO;
  • establishing, modifying, supporting with documents and coordinating the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures;
  • ensuring the daily filing and archiving of all documents in accordance with the established internal procedures of the Company, accounting principles and relevant legislation;
  • carrying out the tasks assigned through the hierarchical chain.
